III INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON GEORGE SANTAYANA

The Organizing Committee of III International Conference on George Santayana is honored to announce the First Call for this Conference. We invite proposals for presentations from research fields related to any aspect pertinent to the conference title. Possible topics include but should not be limited to aspects of Santayana's life and thought from different perspectives such as pragmatism, aesthetics, literature, or about his geographical and cultural ties.

Please, take note of these important dates:

Deadline for abstracts (no longer than 300 hundred words): June 30th, 2009
Deadline for papers (no longer than 15 pages): July 30th, 2009
Confirmation of acceptance: September 20th, 2009
Deadline for submission of the final version of the paper,
ready for publication: November 30th, 2009
Approximate date for publication: April, 2010

Papers, with original contributions on the philosopher George Santayana, should be prepared in accordance to the following formal guidelines. Papers not conforming to these guidelines will be returned to the authors for revision:
The languages of presentation and publication are English and Spanish. Authors are expected to e-mail one copy of their manuscript, typed double-spaced, with wide margins, on plain, standard A4. Once the paper, between 10 and 15 pages, is finally accepted, an e-mailed copy of the final version will be asked (in Word format, Times New Roman, Size 12). The following information should appear on the first page: full title, author's full name, affiliation, e-mail address, and the abstract of no more than 300 words.

A Scientific Committee will select the papers. After their acceptance by a Scientific Committee, all selected papers will be published in a book (CD format) with ISBN
Papers will not be presented or published unless their authors have previously registered for the Conference.

Authors are required to indicate well in advance if they will not be able to attend the Conference and personally present their papers.
